Tissue Paper Stamping

I hope the title of this post got your attention.  So what is Tissue Paper Stamping?  It’s exactly what it says….taking a piece of tissue paper, wadding it up, tapping it on an ink pad and then “stamping” onto your cardstock.  And the result can be something like this:

The background behind the leaf was stamped with a piece of tissue paper.  I used two different color inks.  The first color I used was the lighter color – Pumpkin Pie.  The second color is Cajun Craze, which is the same color as the card base.  I also stamped along the bottom of the Basic White cardstock on the inside of the card.

You could probably add more colors, but I like the simplicity of just two.  And in my imagination the stamping on the bottom of the inside piece is a big pile of leaves that are ready to be jumped into!

The leaf die is part of the Intricate Leaves Dies.  I chose to use just one large leaf, but you could easily choose two to three of the smaller leaf dies instead.

The leaf is actually cut from the square piece of Brushed Metallic paper (gold).  I don’t like to waste my paper and it’s easy to use the same piece as the “hole” is covered up by the Tissue Paper stamped piece of Basic White Cardstock.  The only person that knows it’s there is you!  This is a great way to get the most bang for your buck from your supplies when making cards.

To give the card a little texture and stop it from looking so “white”, I used the Tasteful Textiles Embossing folder on the front Basic White Piece.  The biggest hint I can give you about that is to stamp your sentiment BEFORE you emboss the cardstock.  After your cardstock has been embossed, it would be hard to stamp on the uneven surface. So always Stamp first, then emboss.
