Summer is the time for vacations and if your vacation go to spot is a beach….a beach with white sand and clear water, then this stamp set is for you. It is 7:30 a.m. and I am currently sitting on the veranda of a condo on Ambergris Caye, Belize staring at the palm trees blowing in the wind (and I mean blowing!), watching the choppy water and eating a bowl of Lucky Charms. Doesn’t get much better than this.

I used the Paradise Palms Stamp Set to create the beach scene. This stamp set is the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog….BUT….it also carried over into the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, so you can create your own beach scenes for the next year! It is currently a bundle with the Palms Dies and you can save 10% off if you purchase the bundle by June 30th.

I paired this stamp set with the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Papers. While the front of the papers has loads of beautiful flowers, the backside has these wonderful shaded backgrounds. It looked perfect for a beach scene.
I turned the paper 90 degrees from what is shown and cut off a 4” strip and then cut a piece 5 1/4” off then end to make the background of my card.
I stamped my design on Basic White Cardstock using Soft Suede (sand), Pool Party (water), Early Espresso (tree), Garden Green (palms) and Mango Melody (sun) and then used the Scalloped Contours dies to cut out my scene. I wrapped a bit of the new 2022-2024 In Color Twine in Sweet Sorbet around the Designer Series Paper before adhering it to my card base, popped up my die cut on Dimensionals and added a few Iridescent Rhinestones to finish it off. And I stamped my sentiment right on the Designer Series Paper! Yes! You can do that!
In case you are wondering how I got the sun “shaded” to look those colors…..well, I just have to admit that my Mango Melody stamp pad needed to be re-inked and there was a great color variant where I put my stamp on the ink pad! If you want yours to look like that and you have a freshly inked stamp pad, try this: Ink your stamp, then stamp off on a piece of scratch paper. Use a sponge dauber to add a little ink back on near the edge and stamp. You might want to test this first on a piece of scrap paper to make sure you get the desired effect.

- Basic White Thick Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”; Score and fold at 5 1/2”
- Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper – Cut 4” x 5 1/4”
- Basic White Cardstock – Scrap to stamp and die cut (about 3” x 4”), plus a piece 4” x 5 1/4”
- Ink: Soft Suede, Pool Party, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Mango Melody
- 2022-2024 In Color Twine
- Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Dimensionals
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
Want to change up the card a bit? Just change the background. I used the other end of the 4” strip that I had cut to make this card. The only difference is the background paper, and I used Linen Thread instead of twine. You’ll notice that I cut off the darkest color of purple off the end
