It’s Wednesday….the middle of the week or as some call it “hump day”. Today I have another card with a little bit of happy shine to help get you over the hump and spur you on toward the end of the week. My “hump” is actually a rainbow…
The stamp set I used is one I used a few weeks ago called Rainbow of Happiness. You can see that post here. Does this card bring a smile to your face? Want a closer look at the shiny rainbow?
The rainbow might look like I used glimmer paper similar to the glimmer paper I used in my last post, which you can see here – Rainbow Glimmer & Seas the Day. All I did to make this paper shine was to use a little bit of Wink of Stella….just brushed on the sparkle. I die cut my rainbow directly from the Sunshine and Rainbows Designer Series Paper which was one of the FREE selections during the recent Sale-A-Bration. The Brilliant Rainbow Die set has the perfect die to do this.
I actually fussy cut one of the rainbows from the paper, then adhered the die cut rainbow pieces on top and added the Wink of Stella on top.
The background is a piece of Pool Party Cardstock that embossed with the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder. I thought it went well with the little curly-cues in the Sunshine and Rainbows Designer Series Paper. Although there are cloud dies with this set, I wanted something a bit bigger, so I used the Cloud Punch and then a Blending Brush and added a little bit of Pool Party ink around the edges.
If you would like to make this card, you will need the following supplies:
- Rainbow of Happiness Bundle (Rainbow of Happiness Stamp Set & Brilliant Rainbow Dies)
- Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder
- Scalloped Contours Dies (2nd largest Rectangle)
- Cloud Punch
- Pool Party Cardstock – Cut 5 ½” x 8 ½”, plus a piece cut 3 ⅞” x 2 ⅝”
- Sunshine and Rainbows Designer Series Paper – Cut 5 ⅛” x 3 ⅞”, plus a strip Cut ½” x 4” (inside), Fussy cut one large Rainbow
- Basic White Cardstock – Cut two pieces 5 ¼” x 4” (inside and front mat), Cut 1 piece 4 ¾” x 3 ½” (Scalloped die), plus scraps to punch 2 clouds
- Ink – Pool Party
- Rhinestone Gems (optional)
- Wink of Stella (on rainbow)
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
