I make quite a few Samplers…..I have a whole gallery on the wall in my craft room, plus a few scattered around my house, but I mostly make them as gifts. I made two of these for Valentine’s Day. They are quick and easy and you can make them in about 15 minutes. My first one I used two sets of retired Designers Series Paper – Heartwarming Hugs and From My Heart Designer Series Papers as when I am testing out an idea, I like to try and use up retired scraps, just in case the idea in my head doesn’t work out in reality!
And this the second Valentine Sampler I made using the current Sweet Talk Designer Series Papers, cutting four squares each from a different paper. And as you can see for this Valentine Sampler, I also changed the cardstock to Gorgeous Grape instead of Real Red Cardstock for a less traditional Valentine look.
I used an 8″ x 8″ Shadowbox Frame that I purchased at my local big box craft store. You can’t tell from this angle, but there are several layers that are adhered with Dimensionals. I also used Dimensionals to adhere the background layer for the four squares (a piece of Basic White Cardstock adhered to a piece of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock) to the Striped piece from the Sweet Talk Designer Series Papers. Each of the four squares are attached with Dimensionals to the Basic White Cardstock. The hearts in the center are also attached with Dimensionals.
If you would like to make one of these Samplers, these are the supplies that you will need:
- Sweet Conversations Stamp Set
- Layering Squares Dies Retired (Optional)
- Heart Punch Duo
- Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper – Cut a piece 8″ x 8″ for background, and cut 4 pieces (different designs) 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″ (die cut with layering squares)
- Gorgeous Grape Cardstock – Cut 6″ x 6″, Cut 4 pieces 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ (for Scalloped Squares), plus a scrap about 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ for punched Scalloped Heart
- Basic White Cardsotck – Cut 5 3/4″ x 5 3/4″, plus a scrap about 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″ for punched heart
- Ink: Gorgeous Grape
- Ribbon – Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals, Glue dots
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
- Other: Pencil, Eraser and Ruler and an 8″ x 8″ Shadowbox Frame
Note: The first sampler used Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper (Striped Background) and Be My Love Designer Series Paper (4 Squares) and Real Red Cardstock.
