If you saw my last post, you’ll know that I was recently tasked with making Thanksgiving cards. And in case you missed it, you can see the post here: Thanksgiving Cards?? I started out simple and I think this one might even beat the first card in the simplicity category.
The Designer Series paper for this card was actually a scrap from another project. I didn’t cut it again, I left it just as I found it and created the card around that 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” piece paper. This paper is from the same Harvest Meadow papers as yesterday’s card (top row, second from the left)
I took my color cues right from the paper. The script on the Designer Series Paper looks like Evening Evergreen to me, so that is the color I chose for the card base. And also the color that I chose for the ink to stamp a huge leaf right in the center. Both the leaf and the sentiment are from the same stamp set called “Gather Together”. This stamp set is retired, but you could substitute other stamp sets that have similar sentiments and/or leaves, such as the current Gorgeous Leaves stamp set.
I also embossed the Basic White Cardstock piece on the front with the Scripty Embossing Folder. I chose that one (even though it’s retired) because I liked the way if mimicked the script on the Designer Series Paper. You can substitute the current Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder if you don’t own the Scripty Embossing Folder. I did make another similar card using items that are NOT retired, so check back in tomorrow for that card! But if you would like to make this card these are the supplies you will need:
- Evening Evergreen Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”; Score and fold at 4 1/4”, plus a piece cut 2 7/8” x 3 7/8”.
- Basic White Cardstock – Cut two pieces 4” x 5 1/4”. Emboss one piece with the Scripty Embossing Folder. Plus a piece cut 1 5/8” X 1 1/4”. I used the Rectangle Stitched Dies to make mine.
- Gather Together Stamp Set
- Ink: Evening Evergreen
- Ribbon: 3/8” Evening Evergreen Chevron Weave Ribbon
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue (or Stampin’ Seal), Dimensionals
- Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
