Last week I shared several cards I made from pieces of partial cards I had thrown in a box on my desk. I finally went through them and made LOTS of cards. Evidently I need to clear our this box more often!
I had stamped the flowers on this card using the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set, but apparently it wasn’t the color I wanted, so I tossed it in the box to be finished later. And I must have been looking the just the “right” shade of blue because I also stamped the flowers I put on this card
I took the two images I had stamped and decided to use the same design on both cards. Both of the colors, Pretty Peacock and Seaside Spray, are part of the 2019-2021 In-Colors. My plan is to now make this same card with the other colors in this group and then I’ll have a set of cards!!
The sentiment layers were die cut from the Hippo & Friends Dies. I bought this set because I’m always on the look-out for a good sentiment tag and these fit the bill.
Not only is there great stitching around the outside, but there are also multiple sizes of the same design so it’s easy to create layers, and there are multiple designs too!
These cards are super simple to make. If you’d like to make some of your own, here are the supplies you will need:
- Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set
- Hippo & Friends Dies
- Embossing Folders: Tasteful Textiles 0r Subtle
- Crumb Cake Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”, score and fold at 5 1/2”, plus a scrap for sentiment tag
- First Layer: Pretty Peacock Cardstock (Seaside Spray) – Cut 5 1/4” x 4”, plus scraps for sentiment tag layer
- Very Vanilla Cardstock – Cut 5” x 3 3/4” – (Emboss with either Tasteful Textiles or Subtle Embossing Folder, plus a piece 5 1/4” x 4” (inside of card)
- Ink: Pretty Peacock (or Seaside Spray) and Crumb Cake
- Ribbon: Scalloped Linen Ribbon – Seaside Spray and Pretty Peacock.
- Adhesive: Stampin’ Seal, Dimensionals, Tear & Tape (ribbon)
I embossed the Very Vanilla after I had stamped the image. If you embosss the paper first, your image will not stamp evenly and will only stamp on the “raised” part of your paper.
