Zany Zebra – Birthday

If you’ve seen my last two post’s this week, they both used the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper and Whale Done Stamp set.  You can see those posts here: Whale of a Time Pocket Card and here: Whale of a Time – Stamp or Punch?  But my youngest daughter follows my blog and she has a fear of Whales apparently caused by a trip to the Baltimore Aquarium when she was little, so I decided to give her a break and stop my “Whale Week” for a bit of Zany Zebra fun.

I CAS’ed the card layout from another demonstrator, Julie Gilson.  You can see her card here.  I decided to pair the cute little zebra from the Zany Zebra Stamp Set with the  Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper.  

This set of papers can be used in so many ways and for so many occasions, but the beautiful array of colors says “birthday” to me.  I chose the big “bubble” paper with the shades of Purple Posy and Calypso Coral.

I decided to keep with the “bubble” theme a little and used one of the Painted Label Dies  to die cut the decorative trim along the sides.

But the star of the card is the little zebra…..who likes to party!  Did you notice the little party hat?

And of course this stamp set has the perfect sentiment for the inside of the card too!

If you would like to make this “party animal” card, these are the supplies you will need:

• Zany Zebra Stamp Set
• Stitched Nested Labels Dies
• All Dressed Up Dies (optional for sentiment)
• Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper – Cut 5” x 2 3/4”
• Purple Posy Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, Score and fold at 4 1/4”
• Calypso Coral Cardstock – Cut 5 1/8” x 3 7/8”, plus a piece cut 5” x 2 3/4” (mat for stamped piece)
• Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 5” x 3 3/4”, Optional: emboss with Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder, plus a piece cut 5 1/4” x 4 (inside), a piece cut 4 1/2” x 2 1/2 (stamped piece) and a scrap for the sentiment.
• Playing withPatterns Ribbon Combo
• 2019-2020 In Color Faceted Dots
• Ink: Memento Black
• Stampin’ Blends Markers: Purple Posy Dark and Calypso Coral Dark (party hat)
• Adhesive: Stamp & Seal and Dimensionals
