There are so many people now who could use a hug….healthcare workers, first responders – police, firemen, military, EMT volunteers, those that live alone, nursing home residents, hospice care patients, children, mothers & fathers, and those who have lost loves ones….the list just goes on and on. Due to the restrictions of “social distancing” we can’t do that, but we can make and send cards. Hospitals are accepting cards (even asking) for cards of encouragement for their overworked staff. Nursing homes and Assisted Living facilities need cards to help cheer their residents.
So here is my hug….
There isn’t much stampin on this card, but there is a bit of die cutting, but it goes fast as you can cut several of the flowers at the the same. I used the Stitched Shapes Dies for the scalloped rectangles and the sentiment piece.
The flowers and the swirly vine are all from the The Cherry Blossom Dies. 
I realize that Cherry Blossoms probably are purple, but I liked the soft colors of Purple Posy with the Soft Seafoam Green Cardstock and So Vellum Paper.
All the flower pieces and the leafy vine that I used on this card are in the bottom right corner. The sentiment is from the Tags in Bloom Stamp Set which was one of the Free stamps sets I received during Sale-A-Bration that just ended.
This sentiment is perfect for making and sending hugs to those you love.
If you are a crafter, get busy…..make a few cards. Sit down with your children and let them make some too, If you would like to make this card, you will need the following supplies.
- Tags in Bloom Stamp Set
- Cherry Blossom Dies
- Stitched So Sweetly Dies (or just cut some rectangle shaped pieces)
- Soft Sea Foam Cardstock – Cut 4 1/4” x 11”; Score and fold at 5 1/2”
- So Very Vellum Paper – Cut 5 1/2” x 4” (sponge on glue so that it won’t shoe thru
- Soft Sea Foam Cardstock – scraps to cut rectangle diem, sentiment shape and 2 of the viney leaves
- Whisper White Cardstock – scrap to cut scalloped rectangle
- Rhinestone Faceted Jewels (or pearls) – use the Purple Posy Dark Stampin’ Blend to give them a little color.
Then check with places in your local area to see if they will accept your cards (either mailed —-yes, you can buy postage online through the US Postal Service Website….or when you are buying groceries, buy stamps while you are there) or hand delivered with a contactless drop off. And to keep everyone safe and healthy, please do not lick” the envelopes if you are mailing your cards, use a slightly moistened sponge, an aqua painter or a paintbrush dipped in water. If you are dropping them off, just tuck the flap inside in stead of sealing.
