Every now and then you just need to stop and reassess…..and now is the perfect time. I’ve been thinking about making some changes to my Stampin’ Up business…trying a few new things…..stepping out of my box and doing what the title of my blog suggests which is JUMPING INTO STAMPING! With both feet, not just dipping my toes in the water to see if it’s too cold or too hot and waiting for it to be “just right”.
WIth the Covid-19 Virus causing changes in everyone’s life and as we try to be socially distant and avoiding in person contact,…that doesn’t mean we have to be distant in our relationships outside of our home. Now more than ever, people need Happy Mail! They need a reason to go out for that walk to the mailbox. Let’s put smiles on people’s faces. People we know….people we don’t know….there are many people in our communities who need something to lift their spirits, to relieve the stress. So it’s time to get stamping and start sending cards!
I am not currently holding in-person classes. Instead I am focusing on preparing Card Kits to Go — fun cards and projects you can make at home and then put in the mail or drop on a neighbors doorstep.
I also started a new Facebook group for my in person stampers to keep in touch and share ideas. And each week I am giving them a sketch challenge….to make a card that that is designed like the sketch. I would like to share that with you today too! Here is the sketch:
It’s a simple and easy design and quick to make and doesn’t require a lot of supplies, making it a good choice to make in multiples so you can send a few more of them out in the mail. Here is the card I created using this design:

I paired the Welcome Easter Stamp Set with the the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper. There are lots of spring florals and bold stripes that make spring just pop right off the card.
The Best Dressed Designer Series Paper is a set of 48 6” x 6” double sided pieces. Since you only need a small strip for the front of the card, one sheet also leaves you with enough leftover to decorate your envelope flap as well! So you can make 48 cards & decorated envelopes with this one pack of paper and some matching cardstock.
If you’d like to make this card, these are the supplies you will need.
- Welcome Easter Stamp Set
- 2” Circle Punch
- Layering Circles Dies
- Melon Mambo Cardstock – Cut 5 ½” X 8 ½” ; Score and fold at 4 ¼”, plus a scrap for Scalloped Circle
- Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 5 ¼” x 4” (Cut 2), plus a scrap for the circle
- Best Dressed Designer Series Paper – Cut 1 ½” x 5 ¼”, and a strip ¼” x 5 ¼”, plus a piece 2 1/2” x 6” for envelope flap
- Ink: Melon Mambo and Memento Tuxedo Black
- Stampin’ Blends: Granite Gray Light and Petal Pink Dark
- Optional – Melon Mambo Enamel Dots (retired)
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals
