S.I.P. No, it does not stand for Still In Pajamas. It stands for Stamps, Ink, Paper. Nothing else on your card….no ribbon, no bling, no embossing, just pure and simple stamping. If you want to make cards in a hurry, S.I.P. is the way to go. But that doesn’t mean that your cards have to be plain and boring.
And I just realized that I cheated a little on the S.I.P. Ha! I love ribbon and embellishments and layers and I tried so hard to be simple. But those pesky Daffodil Delight Enamel Dots in the middle of the flowers did me in.
The stamp set I used is one of the Sale-A-Bration Stamp sets called Thoughtful Blooms. There is also a coordinating punch for this stamp set, which is also a Sale-A-Bration item, although I did not use it for this card. There are several different flowers you can choose from, plus leaves, and my favorite, what I call a “leafy vine” stamp that you can add flowers to in your favorite color ink.
Add your favorite sentiment and you are good to go. I chose one from the Floral Essence Stamp Set….I think because it was sitting on my desk at the time, but I think it fits well with the beauty of the flowers.
I might have gone a little overboard with the flowers on the inside of the card….but the border on the top and bottom will still make the recipient smile when she opens the card to more flowers. And pay no attention to where I accidentally dropped my stamp….consider it a little pollen on the loose!
I thought about redoing it, but our cards don’t have to be perfect. If you make a little mistake, it is really just a happy accident.
If you would like to make this card, this is what you will need:
- Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set
- Floral Essence Stamp Set (sentiment or choose your own!)
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”; Score and fold at 4 1/4”
- Daffodil Delight Cardstock – Cut 3 5/8” x 4 7/8”
- Whisper White Cardstock – Cut 3 1/2” x 4 3/4”, plus a piece cut 5 1/4” x 4”
- Ink: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green
- Daffodil Delight Enamel Dots (Retired)
- Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals
