Dressed to Impress – Let’s Make a Purse!…and Cards!

I love making 3D Projects – boxes, bags and treat holders, but its even more fun when it’s something as fun as this purse and the little notecards that you can tuck inside.

With Mother’s Day coming up, wouldn’t this purse make the perfect gift bag? You could tuck lots of things inside — small jewelry, lipsticks, gift cards, small chocolates, movie tickets, small perfume samples. And those are just a few examples.

Stampin’ Up! makes making these all so simple… with the Dressed to Impress Stamp Set and All Dressed Up Dies.

And what tops it all off is is the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper. As with all of Stampin’ Up’s Designer Series Papers, these are double sided, so on one side there are beautiful florals and the other side are simple patterns like polka dots and stripes, small floral patterns, plus some fun lipstick, shoes and perfume bottle patterns. So when you are making your purse, the outside is bold with flowers, while the inside looks like the lining of a real purse.

The purse is cut with the All Dressed Up Dies. Just cut two of the purse die, fold on the scored lines and adhere the sides together with Tear & Tape. The sides of the purse can be pushed outward as in the picture below to put wider objects inside like a tote bag or can be pushed in to give it more of a purse look, like in the picture above.

Then use the dies and a coordinating color of cardstock, I used Lovely Lipstick to make the purse straps and small pocket. A scrap of Gold Foil Paper is perfect for making buckles for the straps. Want to add more? There are also dies that cut buttons that you can add to your pocket or create a closure strap across the middle.

I made three little note cards that measure 3” x 3” and once again there is a coordinating product…these cute little cards and matching envelopes.

There are 24 notecards and 24 matching envelopes – The 3” x 3” cards are white with a watercolor wash, 8 each of three colors – Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink and Purple Posy. The perfect size to use for a small gift, sweet note to a friend, or to pop into this purse along with a little gift.

Each card is simple and easy to make. You will need the Dressed to Impress Stamp Set and All Dressed Up Dies, plus Stitched Shapes Dies and below each card I’ve included the supplies you will need for the card front. As you can see I used one of each color of the Best Dressed Notecards & Envelopes to make these cards.
