Easy Peasy – Painted Poppies

Easy Peasy – Quick and Easy.  That’s my motto this week as I get projects ready for a one day retreat on Saturday.  I spent 3 hours cutting pieces for 16 cards….with each card having 22 pieces….oh my!  But it will be a ‘Masterpiece”.  That’s a hint for the theme of the card which I’ll share next week.  This week is also colorful week on my blog…and now quick and easy week too!  When the Designer Series Paper is bright and colorful, there is no need to do much to have a beautiful card.  If you haven’t purchases this paper, Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper yet, you need to run, not walk to the nearest computer and order some!

The card I made for today’s post uses the very first piece on the left.

All I did was choose some matching cardstock and then cut the paper to size.  I stamped a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set and I was almost ready.  The most time consuming part of the entire card was coloring the twine.   The original color of the twine wrapped around the front of the card is Whisper White.  Since I didn’t think I had any Blackberry Bliss twine, I made my own.  I used my Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blend and just colored a piece of Whisper White Cotton Twine.  Worked like a charm!

If you’d like to make this card, this is what you’ll need:

  • Peaceful  Moments Stamp Set
  • Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Calypso Coral Cardstock – Cut 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” ; Score and fold at 4 1/4”
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock – Cut 5 1/4” x 4”
  •  Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper – Cut 5” x 3 3/4” and a strip cut 1” x 5”
  • Whisper White Cotton Twein
  • Blackberry Bliss Dark Stampin’ Blend (to color the twine
  • Ink – Blackberry Bliss Dark Stampin’ Blends
  • Adhesive: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals. Glue Dots

and don’t forget the inside of your card……

  1. Love this stamp set and the paper! this will be my next purchase…..when I stop going to Hobby Lobby and finding irrestible bargains! lol

    1. Well, you have until May 31st…and then it retires. But if you buy the stamp set and paper before March 31st (34.50) and add another $15.50 in products to get you up to $50 (like maybe the some whisper white cardstock – the best for stamping) & inks or another stamp set), then you qualify to get a FREE Sale-a-bration item of your choice! That’s a bargain…just saying! Lol
