I’m on a little vacation at the beach. It’s my happy place. I like to sit on the beach, watch the waves, read a good book and walk the shoreline looking for shells. Lots of shells which I scatter around my house in glass jars and vases to remind me of the beach.
In other words….I really relax and do nothing. But I did bring along a few of my stamping supples for when I’ve had enough sun and sand for the day. And as long as I was going to the to the beach, it’s only fitting to make a Beach Happy card.
The stamp set is actually called Beach Happy and is one of the stamp sets in the 2019 Occasions catalog that will be retiring on June 3rd. It’s a great little stamp set…with a beach umbrella, chair, palm tree, plus a cute little beach bag and hat, and a bunch of “Beachy” sayings.
Because I am at the beach, I don’t have all my supplies, and I clearly wasn’t thinking when I packed them either. When it came to time to stamp the and cut out the sentiment I was a little dismayed to find out I couldn’t make a circle as the punch’s I had were either too small for the sentiment or too big for the skinny strip of paper I had stamped on. So I just centered it the best I could and used a bigger punch so part of the circle was missing on the top and bottom. And then I cut a bigger circle for the background and trimmed the flat sides to match. The result is a squished circle…but it works!
So to make up for that a little, I stamped an extra beach bag inside the card. I just loved the little basket weave stamp that makes it look like it’s made of straw.
