Wreaths Belong on Doors

One of my new favorite stamps is the wreath that is part of the Wishing You Well stamp set.  Why do I like it?  It makes me look like an artist when I stamp it!  This stamp set is one of the “distinctive” stamps.  What is a distinctive stamp you say?  Well it’s a special way that the stamp is made that when you ink it up and stamp….it has color variations and texture variations.  So it looks like you’ve been coloring with markers or pencils or blends to make the intricate shading, but really all you did was one quick little stamp!  Ink, stamp, done!

When I made my other wreath card…that you can see HERE, I kept looking at it and thinking….it needs a door.  Sure people hang wreaths on walls, but a Christmas wreath belongs on a door….welcoming everyone to enter.  I don’t have a door stamp (although Stampin’ Up! does have one)  so I improvised instead.  Here it is:

And this is a close up of the wreath & bow so you can really see the color and texture variations.

The Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper just happens to have a grayish piece that looks like wood grain and it’s light enough for the green wreath to shine.  It’s the third from the left on the top row in the picture below) And the green background came from another set of paper – Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper (last one on the right on the top row)

I added a little piece of “rope” to hang my wreath which is actually this burlap ribbon that I took apart to just have 1 strand.  I folded that strand in half and just tucked it under the layers at the top and behind the bow on the wreath.  Can you see how I pulled it apart?  (You will need to cut the outside “row” off and then you can just pull the other “rows” off one by one as you need them)
