I recently shared a One Sheet Wonder set of cards. You can read all about that HERE. But then I was challenged to do another One Sheet Wonder. This one that was cut differently and made 9 cards instead of 12. So….I accepted the challenge. This is the diagram I used of how to cut the the 12” x 12” piece of paper.
This was posted on the Demonstrator Planning Place page on Facebook and I also saw it on someone’s website, so not sure of the exact originator. You can see that I made a few red marks on the cutting layout for Card #4. I actually changed that so that I could do a little different layout for that card so I could use the “tag” piece. See that small 2” x 2” piece in the lower right hand corner marked “tag’? I decided to use that 2” x 2” square as part of a my #4 card instead of it being more “what do I do with it?” leftover piece.
For my 12” x 12” piece of paper, I chose this piece from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. It’s flowery on one side and the other side is a nice contrast of stripes in shades of Berry Burst and Rich Razzleberry
And here is a group picture of the nine cards I made. I added some background cardstock to make the paper “pop” a little more, plus some ribbon and ovals & circles for my sentiments, and I threw on a few sparkly embellishments too. We like to get dressed up when we go out….why shouldn’t our cards get dressed up to go out too?

P.S. I need better lighting inside my house. If you have eagle eyes then you noticed that one of the cards in the group picture is upside down! I was trying to take the picture before it started raining….and it’s still raining, so I can’t retake it….so upside down it is!
If you hadn’t said anything, I never would have known that it was upside down. I think I actually prefer it with the flowers on bottom HAHA (I realize the fold would be wrong, but from a “front” standpoint, it’s totally not noticeable!) AND I am an eagle eye (my mama used to call me that all the time)–I find/see things most people don’t, and that wasn’t one of them. Your secret was safe 🙂 That said, I’m going to have to CASE these soon 🙂 I’m hoping to move at the end of the year, and I want to make up a bunch of cards (to use up supplies so I don’t have to move them) and sell them (to help offset moving costs).
I knew something was “off” in the picture but it took me awhile to figure out what. Maybe next time I do this, I’ll put the flowers on the bottom on purpose! Please, yes, CASE all you want! I’m kind of new to this, so I’d be honored to have you CASE them. One Sheet Wonder is a good way to use up paper and it makes a lot of cards in a small amount of time, especially if you want to stock up and sell your cards. Makes it easy to sell as a set/several sets too! I hope your move goes well and that making cards this way will help.
I never would have noticed either….I had to go back to see what you were talking about and it took me a while to figure out that it was the opposite way round! Looks delightful either way! These make a lovely set to have on hand!
I think your cards are lovely. I noticed the card switch immediately. I actually prefer it the “wrong” way. Somehow, it’s more pleasing to my eye to see the flowers on the bottom; I wonder if it’s because I think the flowers are going to fall down or off if they are up high. Patricia, I am perplexed. In your blog you wrote, “You can see that I made a few red marks on the cutting layout for Card #4. I like the way you used the tag for the sentiment, and I think that was a great use of the tag. Could you tell me please if my brain is not seeing your change of the layers underneath correctly?
I’m going to have to go back and read it when I’m on my computer and not my phone. I’ll let you know!
Ok, I went back and re-read what I wrote and looked at what I did. It was 4 years ago, but the original diagram piece would have been 3 1/2” x 5” rectangle cut on the diagonal into two triangle pieces. Then the only difference would have been that the diagonal was cut in the opposite direction. What I did instead was cut that 3 1/2” x 5” piece into two pieces 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” and 3 1/2” x 1 1/2”. The square piece I cut diagonally into two triangles and the smaller rectangle, I put on the right side. And then I took the “ 2” x 2” tag” piece and placed it right in the middle. Hope that makes sense. If not, let me know and I’ll see if I can explain it in a different way.
I am looking at your One Sheet Wonder of July 25, 2018. I like the layout you created. How can I get a template for this project?. Also interested in the sample cards. Any info on this would be very helpful. Thank you
